A Brief Summary
We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). What follows is a brief summary of some of the core beliefs that shape our worship, teaching, and life together, followed by links to the historic confessional standards that more fully express our faith.
-
The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God and the only infallible rule for faith and life.
-
God is one, eternal and self-existing, revealed in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are equally worthy of love, honor, and worship.
-
Humanity was created good, but through Adam’s fall all people are now born into sin, spiritually dead, and unable to save themselves.
-
God, in His sovereign grace, for no reason other than His own unfathomable love and mercy, has chosen sinners from every nation to be redeemed through the atoning death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ, and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit.
-
Those whom the Spirit brings to life come to faith in Christ through the Word of God, are adopted as children of God, and will be preserved in faith until the end.
-
Justification is by faith alone, and through it the undeserving sinner is forgiven and clothed with the righteousness of Christ.
-
God’s purpose in the lives of his children is growth in holiness, good works, and joyful service, all to the glory of God.
-
At death, the soul of the believer enters immediately into the presence of God, while the soul of the unbeliever remains eternally separated from God's love, and under condemnation.
-
Baptism is a sign and seal of God’s covenant promises and is properly administered to the children of believers, as well as to adult converts who profess faith in Christ.
-
Jesus Christ will return, visibly and bodily, at a time unknown, to judge the world and bring God’s redemptive plan to its final consummation.
-
The gospel of Jesus Christ is to be proclaimed to all the world as a witness before His return.
The Deep Dive
Our church embraces the historic Reformed faith as summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith, along with the Westminster Larger Catechism and Westminster Shorter Catechism. These documents provide a careful, consistent explanation of what we believe the Scriptures teach. They serve as teaching standards and as guardrails for the unity, faithfulness, and theological clarity of the church.
